RwandaOnline Platform Ltd. partners with MobiCash to enable citizens applying for e-Goverment services through Irembo

Kigali, Rwanda. RwandaOnline Platform Ltd., pioneer of Irembo an online portal aimed at bringing government services closer to citizens and businesses has partnered with electronic payment gateway, MobiCash Rwanda to enable people access to government services more conveniently. Through the partnership, services enlisted under the Irembo web portal will be accessible through over 900 MobiCash agents located countrywide, which include the Sector Credit and Savings Cooperatives (Umurenge SACCOs). Speaking after signing the agreement at the RwandaOnline Platform Ltd offices in Nyarutarama, Kigali yesterday, Clement Uwajeneza, the Chief Executive Officer of RwandaOnline said “the partnership is a step forward in making Government services on Irembo more accessible especially to users in rural areas. We want to take advantage of MobiCash’s rural outreach through the SACCOs to enable people to apply, pay and get the services they want from Irembo much more conveniently. By providing people with a much more user-friendly approach, they will be able to embrace the use of technology faster,” he noted during the press conference. The MobiCash agents will be able to offer the following services of Irembo: Birth Certificate Registration for Driving Test (Provisional, supplementary & Definitive), Criminal record clearance certificate Marriage certificate Certificate of being single Transfer of land sale (voluntary) Single entry visa Transit visa Conference visa- single entry East Africa Tourist Visa Land subdivision Death registration & certificate Transfer of land title Replacement of national ID Billboard, banner & signpost Application for national ID Driving license category upgrade Duplicate of definitive and provisional driving license Pascal Nyagahene, the Chief Executive Officer of MobiCash Rwanda, said: “Our over 3 million customers who use MobiCash will welcome the convenience to make e-Government services available to them while saving an incredible amount of time”. Once the citizen successfully applies for an e-Government service from the Irembo portal (www.irembo.gov.rw) they will receive a billing ID which they will use to process payment.
